Lin Beifong got told to get over her problems with people so they could complain about her to HER! She got told to be the bigger person by everyone who hurt her she could’ve been the antagonist and I still would’ve chose her side. She is the bigger person. And she shouldn’t be called a bitch for knowing that and distancing herself from the assholes who hurt her. Period.

Headcanon that the gaangs kids learn about Zuko’s misguided quest to capture the avatar and subsequently make a game out of it.

Bumi steals an air nomad necklace from his dad and whoever wears it becomes the “avatar” for the duration of the game. The “avatar” is given 100 seconds to hide.

When they “capture the avatar” the winner must shout “I have restored my honor!”

Zuko is mortified, everyone else thinks it’s endlessly hilarious.

TLOK and the design of older women

Scrolling through the TLOK tag, I see so many posts saying “Thanks to The Legend of Korra, now I’m attracted to older women” and then they attach pictures of Lin, Suyin and Kya. Those posts always get a good chuckle out of me, but I’ve decided to be a party popper and analyze, why are the elderly women of TLOK so attractive?

And the answer is because they aren’t drawn like actual women in their 50s. They are drawn like 30 year old women and then they add the grey hair to convey that they are old. Let’s see the evidence:

Here is Tenzin, he is 51 years old in the 1st season. This is how he looks:

He has bags under his eyes, wrinkles, messy facial hair, and crow’s feet. These are all realistic signs of aging that we normally see in men above 50.

Now let’s see Lin Beifong. She is 50 years old.

Her face is completely smooth. There are no wrinkles, smile lines, or any signs of aging besides her gray hair.

And those are just the examples that I used to prove my point. This disparity applies to all of the middle aged men and women in this show. Let’s keep going:

Kya and Bumi are both in their mid-late 50s. Bumi has wrinkles, under eye bags, and forehead creases. Kya has 0 physical signs of aging besides her hair.

Here are some more examples:

Again, I’m sorry to be a complete party popper, but the reason why everyone is so attracted to the elderly women of Korra is because these are not elderly women- they are 30 year olds with grey hair. Only men are allowed to age naturally in this show.

Okay, but I'm pretty sure it's very heavily implied that the only REAL reason Tenzin left was because he needed kids to restore the air nation and he really just used the other stuff, that I truly think he didn't actually have an issue with, as a way to deflect how terrible what he did was. Like… I think he grew to love his wife, don't get me wrong, but it was and will never be the same as how he feels for Lin. The way he looks at her, the way he acts around her…. That man still loves her but he can't have her and I just know he felt sick to his stomach after the Harmonic Convergence. Poor Lin got caught in the crossfire and was told to, “just get over it,” while Tenzin got praised and I just know that the reason she was so angry wasn't just to be malice and rude. No, it was because she never got the recognition that what happened wasn't FAIR and she only got demonized by the others she loved.

we talk about Mako and Lin being way too eager to sacrifice their lives and I agree. But honestly it seems like almost everyone in tlok is just a little too excited to die

lin has 100% fucked all three kataang siblings. both kya and bumi are aware of this, because they’re not totally oblivious, but poor tenzin still believes he’s the only one.

then, one day, tenzin suddenly has the epiphany during dinner (with his entire family around, including lin and both siblings), and has to try to stay calm while he realises what all the quips made by kya and bumi around him really meant.
